Electrophysiology

Does your heart skip a beat or often beat too fast? Have you ever suddenly felt weak or close to fainting? These can be signs of a heart rhythm problem called atrial fibrillation, a condition with often disabling symptoms.

Atrial fibrillation is one of the most common heart rhythm disturbances, affecting some 2.2 million Americans. This condition is commonly associated with heart failure and stroke.

Cape Fear Valley's Heart & Vascular Center has cardiologists who specialize in treating cardiac rhythm problems, with new procedures such as miminally invasive catheter ablation.

The Heart & Vascular Center also offers:

  • Ambulatory EKG Monitoring
  • Comprehensive Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology Service
  • Non-Surgical Ablation of Irregular Slow and Fast Rhythms
  • Heart Failure Device Implantation
  • Unexplained Syncope (Fainting) Evaluation
