Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

Our eight-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is located within our Children's Center. Five of those beds are critical care beds in the main ICU room and three are intermediate level beds in private rooms.

The PICU is for critically ill children who require close observation and more intense medical and nursing care to aid the healing process. Our patients come from many counties throughout Southeastern North Carolina.

Since the patients in PICU are in critical condition, we have restricted visiting guidelines and hours to protect their wellbeing. We ask that no more than two people visit at a time.

Parents, grandparents and legal guardians may visit at the following times:
8:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
8:30 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.

All other visitors may visit at the following times:
1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
8:30 - 10:00 p.m.
