In 2007, Cape Fear Valley Health System partnered with Cleveland Clinic to bring
world–class cardiac surgical services to southeastern North Carolina.
For the past 18 years, Cleveland Clinic has been named the nation’s #1 heart
program by U.S. News & World Report magazine. No other heart program has more experience, more knowledge or better access to technology.
Cleveland Clinic’s heart doctors are pioneers throughout the world. They were the first to perform an open-heart surgery over 40 years ago and the first to perform
minimally invasive heart valve surgery.
Now that level of expertise is at your back door. And the partnership is showing results.
Cape Fear Valley's Heart & Vascular Center has been awarded a "3-star" rating, the highest possible, for quality in cardiac surgery by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS). The ratings system is the gold standard for cardiac surgery programs in the nation. Just 14 percent of hospitals nationwide received a 3-star rating for the 2011 calendar year.
Cape Fear Valley Medical Center has also received full Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care. The award was given for Cape Fear Valley's demonstrated expertise and commitment to quality patient care.
