Cape Fear Valley Health’s March 24 Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Reached Capacity

3/24/2021

FAYETTEVILLE, NC — Cape Fear Valley Health held a one-day, walk-in clinic for the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday, March 24, at the Cape Fear Valley Rehab Auditorium on the medical center’s campus starting at 8 a.m. No appointment was needed. Capacity was reached around 10:45 am, and there are no more available doses today.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine differs from Pfizer and Moderna in that it only requires one dose. It is not approved for those under 18. Individuals age 16 and 17, need to choose a clinic that is offering the Pfizer vaccine.

“The fact that we were at capacity less than three hours into the clinic is a testament to the demand for a convenient one-dose vaccine”, said Chris Tart, PharmD, Vice President of Professional Services. “We are glad to see this demand from people in being vaccinated.”
