The third annual Step Up 4 Health and Wellness Expo, presented by Cumulus Media, will be held Saturday, April 12, hosted by Methodist University. The event starts with registration at 9 a.m., followed by opening ceremonies at 9:30 and 4k and 1-mile walk/runs at 10 a.m. After the race starts, the wellness expo opens at 10:15 and goes until noon.

The walk/run will also include a cancer survivor’s lap, where survivors, along with their friends and family, are invited to participate. The lap and the Wellness Expo are free and open to the public. Registration for the 4k and 1-mile walk/run $30 for children 4-12 years old and $35 for adults.

Advance registration can be found online at https://www.givesignup.org/Race/NC/Fayetteville/StepUp4HealthWellnessExpo. Groups of four or more who register together receive a discount of $5 per person, and children 3 and under are free. Each person who registers receives an event t-shirt.

The Wellness Expo will include about 60 educational booths from healthcare providers, community organizations and local businesses, with giveaways, food vendors, music and more.

As one of Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation’s signature events, over $135,000 has been raised at this event to support patients at Cape Fear Valley Health through programs and services such as Friends of the Cancer Center, Children’s Services, Heart Care, CAP (Community Alternatives Program), CCMAP (Cumberland County Medication Access Program), and the Nursing Education Scholarship.

“We are thrilled to be back at Methodist University for the third year in a row and continue to grow the Step Up 4 Health & Wellness Expo,” said Sabrina Brooks, Vice President of Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation. “The event is a wonderful way to bring our community together to focus on health and wellness, while also supporting several Cape Fear Valley Health programs.”
