Cape Fear Valley Medical Center will open a new entrance from Village Drive to the Emergency Department parking lot on Sunday, Aug. 30, changing how patients and visitors access the department by vehicle.
The Emergency Department is not moving and will remain in its current location. The change only affects the vehicle entrance used to access the Emergency Department parking area.
Beginning Aug. 30, drivers traveling to the Emergency Department will be able to turn directly from Village Drive into the Emergency Department parking lot.
During a brief transition period, both the new and current entrances will remain open. The current Emergency Department entrance, located farther down Village Drive near Conover Drive, will remain open through Sunday, Sept. 6. After the current entrance closes, patients and visitors should use the new Village Drive entrance to access the Emergency Department parking lot.
New permanent signage has been installed at the new entrance to identify access to the Emergency Department. Additional signs around the campus will be updated to reflect the new traffic pattern.
Temporary traffic signs have also been placed along Village Drive to alert drivers to the change and help direct patients and visitors during the transition.
Patients and visitors traveling to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center’s Emergency Department are encouraged to pay close attention to posted signs as the new traffic pattern takes effect.
Please see the attached map for details on the location of the new Emergency Department entrance, the current entrance and the updated traffic flow.
