FAYETTEVILLE – September 14, 2020 – Cape Fear Valley HealthPlex has reopened its doors with new, temporary hours and safety precautions in place due to COVID-19.
For now, Fayetteville’s largest health and wellness center will be open Monday – Friday, 5 a.m. – 8 p.m., with the pool closing at 7:30 p.m. Saturday hours are from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Temperature checks and COVID screening will be performed at the main front door before members can check in. The rear check-in entrance is closed. Members are required to practice social distancing and etiquette and to wear a mask whenever not exercising.
Modified group fitness classes will start back on Sept. 13 with limited capacity. Massage services are currently suspended. Limited hydro power and warm-water arthritis classes will resume Sept. 14.
Pool lanes will allow one swimmer at a time, for a maximum of 45 minutes, for lap-swimming. Free swim is currently suspended. Swimmers must shower prior to entering the water.
Whirlpools and steam rooms are temporarily off-limits. The Play Center will require reservations (2.5 hours max/per day) to ensure slot availability. Infants are not accepted at this time. All children will have temperature checks upon arrival.
