Coronavirus Town Hall Radio Show Scheduled

FAYETTEVILLE – March 23, 2020 – Cape Fear Valley Health’s Making Rounds Live talk show will hold a community townhall to discuss all aspects of the COVID-19 virus.

The show will air Tuesday, March 24, on WIDU 1600 AM from 11 a.m. to noon. The broadcast will simultaneously stream on Cape Fear Valley Health’s Facebook page.

The public is invited to submit questions about COVID-19, more commonly known as coronavirus, during the broadcast. Questions can be submitted via Cape Fear Valley Health’s Facebook page or by calling into the show at (910) 483-6111.

Guest speakers include Michael Zappa, M.D., Associate Chief Medical Officer for Acute Care and Emergency Services at Cape Fear Valley Health; Carolyn Nygren, Cape Fear Valley Health Corporate Director of Infection Prevention and Control; and Dr. Jennifer Green, Director of Cumberland County Department of Health.

The panel will also include John Bigger, Cape Fear Valley Health Corporate Director of Behavioral Healthcare. He will discuss dealing with the stress of self-isolating during the COVID-19 outbreak.

To date, more than 350,000 coronavirus cases have been reported worldwide. More than 100,000 have recovered while more than 15,000 have died. In the U.S., more than 30,000 cases have been reported and more than 400 people have died.
