Your ID badge is a requirement to control access to and from areas identified as security sensitive. It is always worn above the waist with the employee’s picture visible. Badges can also be used for purchasing from the on-site cafeteria or the gift shop.

Workday is our all-in-one platform for accessing and managing key employee information, including HR, payroll, benefits, time, and other workplace resources. The platform helps streamline processes and provides a more convenient experience for team members across our health system. Download the Workday app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
Benefits include:
- Mobile-friendly and single-sign-on for everything you need in HR and accessible from any device from anywhere.
- Eliminates paper processes for HR functions such as changing personal information, checking benefits, requesting time off, submitting expenses, generating reports, etc.

Pastoral Care
Pastoral Care provides compassionate support to patients, families, and team members through emotional, spiritual, religious, ethical, and personal care. Services are provided by board-certified or board-certified eligible professionals, as well as specially trained volunteer clergy and lay leaders.
At Cape Fear Valley Health, our Chaplains are specially trained to support the spiritual and emotional aspects of health care, offering guidance, comfort, and a listening presence during times of uncertainty, transition, or need.

Safety at Work
At Cape Fear Valley Health, safety is everyone’s responsibility. We are committed to creating a culture where proactive risk prevention, open communication, and accountability guide the way we work every day. By speaking up, reporting concerns, and following established safety practices, each team member plays an important role in keeping our patients, visitors, and one another safe.
Our Employee Health department is a specialized resource dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of our workforce through preventive care, medical services, and workplace health programs. Guidelines and practices are informed by recommendations and standards from trusted organizations, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), The Joint Commission, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and other recognized authorities.
We encourage employees to promptly report safety concerns, workplace injuries, illnesses, or potential hazards so they can be addressed quickly and effectively. Reporting tools include:
- Safety Improvement Report (SIR) – Used to report safety concerns, hazards, near misses, and opportunities for improvement.
- First Notice of Injury or Illness (FROI) – Used to report work-related injuries or illnesses
Additional safeguards throughout the health system include Emergency Codes and Safety Data Sheets. Your specific unit or area will share pertinent safety information with you in the time following your start date.
