Cape Fear Valley Health System offers comprehensive New Graduate Nurse Opportunities. We offer students high quality instruction in nursing theory and clinical practice. We are committed to providing an opportunity for the new graduate nurses to build a strong foundation and become highly skilled practitioners. In doing so, a great amount of resources are dedicated to this goal. We ask that residents offer an equally high degree of commitment in return.
Each cohort receives a strategic, planned blend of classroom and hands-on experience. Progress is evaluated on a regular basis with input from your preceptor(s) according to established objectives.
The New Graduate Residency Program is offered twice annually, in winter and summer. Opportunities may be available in a variety of specialty areas.
Direct hire positions for new graduate nurses are also available in the following specialties: Medical/Surgical, Medical/Telemetry, Progressive Care & Stepdown, Psychiatric/Behavioral Health, Acute Care Rehabilitation and Surgical Services.
Cape Fear Valley Health recognizes the challenges that new graduate RNs face during their first year of practice development. All newly licensed RNs will participate in an evidence-based, year-long program that will guide the graduate nurse from student to competent practitioner with a focus on professional development.
Senior nursing students or new graduates will apply and be hired to their areas of interest. Patient Care Managers, Clinical Educators, and trained preceptors will guide the RN to clinical competence while content experts will provide classroom didactic seminars monthly for one year. Start dates are flexible with seminar attendance beginning the month following date of hire.
