Miami Dolphins tight end Julian Hill brought inspiration, encouragement, and smiles to young patients at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Friday during a special visit organized in partnership with the Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation.

A Fayetteville native and former standout at Campbell University, Hill returned to his hometown to give back to the community that helped shape him. He spent the day visiting children in the hospital’s pediatric unit, connecting with patients, signing autographs, and handing out Miami Dolphins goodie bags.

The visit was part of Hill’s ongoing dedication to making a difference off the field.

“For me, it’s all about using my platform for something bigger than myself,” Hill said during the visit. “These kids are facing challenges most of us can’t imagine, and if I can bring a little joy or distraction, even just for a moment, that means everything. Coming back home and being able to encourage them, even in a small way, is something I’ll never take for granted. It reminds me why giving back is so important.”

Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation Vice President Sabrina Brooks expressed gratitude for Hill’s visit and the joy it brought to patients and families.

“We are so grateful to Julian for his generous support of Cape Fear Valley Health and the care we deliver to ill children each and every day,” Brooks said. “He shared his story of overcoming challenges as a youngster in Fayetteville to becoming a professional football player and assured the patients he spoke with that, they too can overcome the adversities they are facing now to succeed at whatever they put their mind to. He was engaging with both the young children and the teenagers alike.  Friday was a great day for our pediatric patients, and we are so appreciative of Julian for sharing his time and treasure, as well as his family and friends for joining him.”

The Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation works to support the patients and programs of Cape Fear Valley Health, and partnerships like this one highlight the power of community and compassion in healthcare.
