The Family Centered Care (FCC) team at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center provides care for over 4000 newborns every year. This team is comprised of board-certified pediatricians, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers, and lactation consultants. Additionally, a pediatric speech therapist, occupational therapist, and physical therapist are available on a consultative basis. Circumcisions are performed by our OB-GYN team. Daytime coverage is provided by our FCC staff and nighttime support is provided by our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) staff, allowing for around-the-clock coverage.
Our team is committed to providing excellent, evidence-based, family-centered care to every newborn during their nursery stay and to facilitating a smooth transition to outpatient care in the community. We are honored to be a part of such a special time in the lives of our newborns and their families!
