  • Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences
  • I am from Cherryville, NC. I went to Campbell University for both undergrad and pharmacy school. I chose to pursue pharmacy after witnessing how impactful pharmacists can be while they were helping some of my family members. Also, being in Campbell’s Pre-Pharmacy program and learning about the profession helped further solidify my interest in pharmacy.
  • I chose Cape Fear Valley due to the wide variety of rotations in both the acute and ambulatory settings, the strong emphasis on resident wellbeing, and the welcoming nature from all of the preceptors during the interview process. Furthermore, I was drawn to the opportunity to participate in the Campbell University teaching program and to help precept pharmacy students. This year, my primary goal is to expand my clinical knowledge and increase my confidence as a pharmacist.

  • Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences
  • I grew up in Pinehurst, North Carolina. I completed my undergraduate education at Sandhills Community College and then at UNC Pembroke where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. I then attended Campbell University for pharmacy school. I decided in middle school that I wanted to be a pharmacist after learning that it was one of the few healthcare professionals that you can see without having to make an appointment.
  • I was fortunate enough to have multiple rotation experiences at Cape Fear Valley during pharmacy school where I was introduced to the supportive and educational environment they create for their residents. I chose this program because I knew that I would be challenged to learn and grow but would feel comfortable going to any of the preceptors with questions. I have a passion for teaching and am excited to be able to be involved in student education through precepting and lecturing during residency. I am also excited about the opportunity to provide care to underserved populations through the CARE Clinic. My primary goal this year is to become a more confident pharmacist so that after residency I am ready for a clinical position in internal medicine, critical care, or infectious diseases, where I can make a large impact on the patients I serve.

  • Belmont University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences
  • I am from Nashville, Tennessee and I completed my undergraduate education at Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN. I then moved back to Nashville and completed pharmacy school at Belmont University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences. I was first attracted to pharmacy due to my background in chemistry, and my desire to pursue a career in healthcare. My experiences during my fourth-year clinical rotations during school furthered my desire to pursue a career as an inpatient clinical pharmacist.
  • I was attracted to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center because of the numerous learning experiences in my areas of interest, which include emergency medicine and critical care. Additionally, while interviewing with some of the preceptors, I could truly see their desire to contribute to both their resident’s personal and professional growth. My personal goals for this year are to grow in my confidence as a pharmacist, as well as gain the experience and skills necessary to pursue a PGY-2 in Critical Care Pharmacy.
