  • Wingate University School of Pharmacy
  • I was born and raised in Fort Pierce, Florida, and moved to North Carolina in 2021 to complete my PharmD. I was initially drawn to working in a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) as a director, but during my undergraduate externship, I realized that the well-being of the patients I wanted to serve was deeply tied to their medications and overall health. That experience shifted my focus to pharmacy. I wanted to master the knowledge of medications so I could take a more well-rounded approach to improving the quality of life for older adults.
  • What attracted me to this program was its strong focus on addressing social determinants of health and the variety of initiatives aimed at supporting underserved populations. The program also aligns with my long-term goal of securing a hybrid role that combines outpatient care with teaching and precepting within a pharmacy school. I was also drawn to the supportive environment and the meaningful relationships residents are able to build with preceptors. Through this residency, I hope to gain the experience and confidence needed to work in outpatient care, where I can continue to advocate for my community and help improve patient outcomes, especially for those who are often overlooked.

  • Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences
  • I am originally from Liberty, North Carolina. I attended Campbell University, where I completed two years of undergraduate studies before entering the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, earning my Doctor of Pharmacy in 2025. My interest in pharmacy began early, inspired by my father’s journey with type 1 diabetes. Witnessing the vital role pharmacists play in chronic disease management sparked my passion for the field and shaped my career aspirations.
  • I was drawn to the PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency Program at Cape Fear Valley because of its diverse outpatient opportunities and strong emphasis on chronic disease state management. The program’s focus on direct patient care, as well as its support for research, teaching, and precepting student pharmacists, aligns closely with my professional goals. During my residency year, I aim to strengthen my clinical decision-making skills, grow in independence, and develop into a well-rounded, confident pharmacist. I am grateful for the opportunity to complete my PGY1 at Cape Fear Valley and look forward to the journey ahead, where I hope to make a meaningful impact on patient care in the community.
