Making Rounds

Cape Fear Valley Health has joined forces with Javara, a North Carolina-based healthcare research partner, to bring more clinical trial opportunities directly to patients in our region.

For many years, participating in a clinical trial often meant traveling long distances to large medical centers in major cities. Now, thanks to this new partnership, patients in Fayetteville and surrounding areas can access cutting-edge research without leaving their local healthcare system (Cape Fear Valley Health!).

What Is a Clinical Trial?

Clinical trials are carefully designed studies that test new medications, treatments, or approaches to care. Every medicine and therapy available today, from routine vaccines to life-saving cancer drugs, started with a clinical trial.

By taking part in a clinical trial, patients help doctors and scientists learn what works best to improve health outcomes. Participation is always voluntary, and trials follow strict safety standards to protect every participant.

How This Partnership Benefits Cape Fear Valley Patients

With Javara’s research team now working directly alongside Cape Fear Valley doctors and nurses, patients can:

– Access emerging treatment options that might not yet be widely available.

– Stay close to home while contributing to medical advances.

– Help improve care for future patients, right here in our community.

Clinical trials are already underway across several areas of care, including oncology, cardiology, nephrology and family health. More trials are expected to begin throughout 2026.

A Shared Commitment to Better Health

Both Cape Fear Valley Health and Javara share a mission: improving access to quality healthcare for all, especially in underserved communities. Together, we’re building a stronger path for patients to be part of the research that shapes tomorrow’s medicine — and to receive the best possible care today.
