Kathryn began her nursing career in 2006 after earning her Associate Degree in Nursing from Bladen Community College. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University and earned her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from Walden University in 2023. She holds ANCC board certification and is also a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN).
Her career includes roles as a Flight Nurse with New Hanover Regional Medical Center and Cape Fear Valley Health, where she completed over 250 air transports and 1,000 ground critical care transports. She later served as the Command Center Director for Cape Fear Valley Health, coordinating patient flow and clinical placement across the health system. Currently, she provides emergency care as a Clinical Ladder III Registered Nurse at a critical access facility within Cape Fear Valley Health.
Kathryn is known for her calm presence under pressure, strong clinical judgment, and patient-centered approach. She maintains certifications in ACLS, PALS, and BLS and is an active member of the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA).
