Overview
Behavioral Health care encompasses a wide range of services and treatments aimed at addressing mental health and behavioral health issues. The goal of behavioral health care is to promote and support mental and emotional well-being, prevent and treat mental health disorders, and improve the overall quality of life for patients and communities. Nurses work with an interdisciplinary healthcare team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and counselors to create, implement, and monitor treatment and care plans.

Candidates
Psychiatric experience preferred. New graduates who are eager to specialize in mental health are encouraged to apply. Additional training in medication and therapeutic modalities. BLS and Workplace Violence Prevention as required by unit (courses sponsored by Cape Fear Valley Health). Professional growth through academic advancement, specialty certification, and Clinical Ladder participation are encouraged.
