What Can I Expect from the Program

Initially, your child will be scheduled to visit with one of our physicians for a comprehensive assessment. This assessment will include a detailed history, physical exam and appropriate lab tests. Children will be screened for high blood pressure, diabetes and other underlying medical problems that can be caused by excess weight or obesity.

Once the initial assessment is complete, our team will work with your child to help him or her lead a healthier lifestyle. We will help modify unhealthy behaviors, teach positive eating habits and nurture physical activity at home. Our physicians will work with patients throughout the process to encourage success. Family involvement is vital for your child’s success in this program. In order to achieve lasting results for your child, you will need to incorporate into your family the lifestyle changes you learn.
