The General Surgery Residency Program is committed training residents to become the next generation of surgeons who are well-trained, clinically equipped in every way, and driven by improving the quality of every life touched.
Being the 8th largest health system in North Carolina, the physicians of our Cape Fear region are committed to meeting the healthcare needs of our rural population as we provide exceptional healthcare for all our patients. Combined with our sponsoring institution at Campbell University, our faculty, staff, and residents share the same values of teamwork, leadership, professionalism, integrity, diversity, and the ethical treatment of all humanity.
Here at Cape Fear Valley, we are striving to be the gateway in creating the access to healthcare services that our communities need. We are providing our residents with unparalleled clinical and operative exposure with our large and diverse patient population. Our comprehensive training program incorporates a breadth of general surgery and subspecialties to include trauma/critical care, ear nose and throat, vascular, colorectal, cardiothoracic, to name a few as we perform approximately 22,000 surgeries annually. The program is five (5) years long and each year we will recruit three (3) residents for a total of 15 residents at the end of our 5th year.
