Current Residents

Jennifer Spallina, PharmD
University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

I grew up in Rochester, New York and attended University at Buffalo for both my undergraduate and pharmacy studies. I graduated from University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences with my PharmD in 2023. My current professional interests include ambulatory care, family medicine and diabetes management.

What I value the most about outpatient pharmacy is the ability to develop longstanding relationships with patients while making an impact on their healthcare. I was drawn to Cape Fear Valley due to the opportunity for longitudinal rotations, along with a variety of ambulatory care settings. In addition, CFV helps residents give back to the community through experiences at the Cumberland County Public Health Department, CARE clinic, and Better Health Clinic.

I am looking forward to challenging myself throughout this upcoming year in order to grow personally and professionally. I am excited to expand on my current interests as well as develop new interests along the way. I am honored to be joining the CFV family.

Macy Worley, PharmD
Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences

I was born and raised in Smithfield, North Carolina. I completed two years of undergraduate studies within the Pre-Pharmacy program at Campbell University, before applying to pharmacy school to pursue my Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Campbell as well. Prior to college, I had the opportunity to take a pharmacy technician course as a senior in high school which allowed me to gain exposure to the field of pharmacy itself. Ultimately, seeing the impact that a pharmacist can make at the community level within the retail setting, established my desire to pursue pharmacy as a career.

I was initially attracted to the program at Cape Fear Valley, due to its diverse outpatient pharmacy experiences as well as its presence within the community through the CARE Clinic, CCMAP, and Better Health to provide appropriate outreach to those of the surrounding area. Additionally, the support provided to all residents throughout the year was also another attractive component of the program, as it shows that our success and growth is valued.

This year, I am most looking forward to the opportunity to work within a variety of outpatient practice settings and to also challenge myself to step outside of my comfort zone. My current practice interests include endocrine and chronic disease state management, but I am looking forward to seeing how my interests may evolve throughout the year. I am excited to begin my pharmacy journey as a part of the Cape Fear Valley Health System and I can't wait to see what the year has in store!
