Hoke Hospital

Cape Fear Valley Hoke Hospital opened in 2015 and is an innovative 41 bed full-service hospital that offers various inpatient and outpatient services. This hospital serves residents of Hoke County and southwestern Cumberland County as well as surrounding areas. We are the only hospital in Hoke County that is joint commission certified as a stroke ready and chest pain center. Hoke Hospital's Service Areas and Facilities include 41 inpatient beds, 16-bed Emergency Department, 9 observations beds and a 4 bed ICU. In addition, we have two operating rooms which are used for OB/GYN, podiatry, orthopedic, and general surgeries. We also have a full range of ancillary services including cat scan, nuclear medicine, x-ray, ultrasound, physical, occupational and speech therapies, pharmacy, laboratory, and cardiopulmonary.

Emergency Department

Cape Fear Valley Hoke Hospital's Emergency Department provides full-service quality care for all patients seeking emergent medical care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, regardless of age, race, religion or ability to pay. A wide variety of patient conditions, illnesses, medical problems, and traumatic injuries may bring patients to our emergency department.

Evaluation and treatment of emergency conditions are provided by experienced Emergency Department nursing staff and providers. Special training in Advanced Cardiac and Pediatric Life Support, trauma and other medical emergencies is required for the ER Staff. The Emergency Department is equipped with state-of-the-art emergency medical equipment in a full range of sizes to accommodate patients of all ages.

Candidates: Graduate of an accredited Registered/Professional Nursing program. At least one-year critical care or ED experience required. ACLS and telemetry experience required.

Float Pool (Supplemental Staffing)

Hoke Hospital is recruiting versatile, competent, and experienced registered nurses to serve as Full Time Supplemental Staff who perform a full range of nursing duties on various units to include the ICU, Emergency Department, and Medical Surgical floors. Candidates: Graduate of an accredited Registered/Professional Nursing program. At least one-year experience in ICU/Step down, Emergency Department AND Medical Surgical units. ACLS and telemetry experience required.

ICU (Intensive Care Unit)

The ICU provides an environment in which medical-surgical patients who are critically ill may receive specialized intensive or step-down level of nursing care, which contributes to maximum improvement in the shortest period of time. This unit consists of four private rooms with a centrally located nursing station. Each room is individually capable of monitoring the patient's vital signs and hemodynamic status.

Candidates: Graduate of an accredited Registered/Professional Nursing program. At least one-year critical care experience. ACLS and telemetry experience required.

MedSurg (Medical-Surgical-Orthopedic-Telemetry)

The practice of Medical-Surgical Nursing requires specialized knowledge and clinical skills to manage actual or potential health problems that affect individuals, their significant other(s), and the community. Our medical-surgical nursing services are provided to clients from early adulthood and throughout the life span.

Medical-Surgical Nursing is the single largest nursing specialty in the United States. Our nurses practice primarily in our medical-surgical and orthopedic inpatient units. They care for adult patients who are acutely ill with a wide variety of medical issues. We also care for patients recovering from hip, knee, or shoulder replacement surgery. They provide care 24/7 and have more facetime with patients than any other professional in the hospital.

Candidates: Graduate of an accredited Registered/Professional Nursing program. At least one-year acute care experience. ACLS and telemetry experience preferred.

Surgical Services

Pre-Op/PACU/Operating Room: The preoperative and PACU staff is comprised of highly trained nurses that perform vital tasks in caring for preoperative and post-operative patients. Our operating room staff is highly skilled in caring for the intraoperative patient while maintaining sterility as well as assisting anesthesia with intubation and extubation. The patient population consists of all age groups from pediatrics to adults, who have undergone a variety of operative or invasive procedures requiring anesthesia/conscious sedation.

Candidates: Graduate of an accredited Registered/Professional Nursing program. At least one-year acute care experience. ACLS and telemetry experience required for PACU.
