Nurse Externship

Program Overview

The Nurse Extern I & II Program is a paid externship for students who have successfully completed their first year in an accredited school of nursing.

• Nurse Extern I (must have NA I certification) will be paid at $15/hr
• Nurse Extern II (must have NA II certification) will be paid at $16/hr

Program Dates

This is a summer program offered in June of each year. Upon completion of the externship, you may have the opportunity to continue employment at Cape Fear Valley Health.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Successful completion of the first year in an accredited school of nursing
• NA I registration with NCDHHS or NA II registration with the NCBON
• Recommendation Letter

Clinical Experience

This program will allow you to experience direct patient care ("hands-on" experience) in a clinical area of interest. Placement for the summer program will be offered in clinical areas with respect to the applicant's qualifications and availability of unit positions.

Acceptance into a position is contingent upon a background/criminal check, post-offer employment physical exam, which includes drug and alcohol screening.
