Cape Fear Valley Pediatric Endocrinology

Cape Fear Valley Pediatric Endocrinology provides comprehensive care to children with acute and chronic disorders of the hypothalamus, pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands, gonads and endocrine pancreas.

Our staff physicians are all board-certified, and we accept all major insurance carriers.

In addition, children with Turner Syndrome, Prader- Willi Syndrome, Noonan Syndrome, Congenital adrenal hyperplasia, ambiguous genitalia, intersex, precocious or delayed puberty, and females with hirsutism are provided sensitive and individualized attention.

Procedures, such as stimulation test for growth hormone deficiency, adrenal insufficiency, precocious puberty, or late-onset congenital adrenal hyperplasia are conducted Monday through Friday by our board certified pediatric endocrinologist.

The Diabetes Clinic provides evaluation, monitoring, counseling, and follow-up and support for children with Type 1 (insulin dependent) and Type 2 (non-insulin dependent) diabetes. A team of professionals, including a board certified pediatric endocrinologist, a diabetes nurse educator and a certified dietitian, provide a comprehensive approach to treating diabetes. The clinic staff has been recognized by the American Diabetes Association (ADA) for its high-quality diabetes self management program by receiving the American Diabetes Association Education Recognition Certificate.

The diabetes education program includes the following:

  • Continuum of care
  • Intensive diabetes management class for newly diagnosed children and their families.
  • Insulin pump and continuous glucose monitoring classes and management
  • Intensive insulin management
