Surgical Services
At Cape Fear Valley Health System, we have eight surgical suites in the main OR for general, vascular, trauma, endoscopy, orthopedic and neurosurgery. In addition, we have two specialty suites for urological surgery. Two cardiac surgery operating rooms in the Heart & Vascular Center are dedicated to cardiac procedures.
Ambulatory surgery is offered at Cape Fear Valley SurgiCare inside Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and at Highsmith-Rainey SurgiCare inside Highsmith-Rainey Specialty Hospital. Highsmith-Rainey SurgiCare has had the distinction of being above the 90th percentile in patient satisfaction for 10 consecutive quarters, according to Press Ganey.

Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery
Offering surgical programs for coronary artery bypass grafting, adult congenital heart surgery, valvular heart surgery, endoscopic abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery and atrial fibrillation surgery. Dedicated cardiac staff with 24-hour coverage.
General Surgery
Offering state-of-the-art minimally invasive surgery, including Bariatric Surgery.
Neurosurgery
A full range of neurosurgical procedures is available, including brain and spinal surgery, as well as neurosurgical procedures for chronic pain.
Orthopedic Surgery
The Orthopedic Surgery program treats injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system, including major joint reconstruction, sports medicine and trauma.

We have two dedicated suites for urological procedures.
