  • Non-Invasive Diagnostic Testing

  • Stent Placement
  • Intravascular Brachytherapy (Radioactive Seeds)
  • Cardiac Catheterization
  • Open Heart Surgery
  • Pacemaker Surveillance Program
  • EECP (Enhanced External Counterpulsation)

Healthy Hearts Cardiac Rehabilitation Program The Open Heart Surgery program began in December 1992. Previously, area residents needing this service had to travel to hospitals in the Triangle area, creating a hardship for both themselves and their families. Cape Fear Valley's program is now available much closer to home.

One of the newest components of our heart program is the Chest Pain Center, a seven-bed evaluation and treatment facility located within the Emergency Department of Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Another new component is the Vascular Health Program, which is designed to benefit those who are recovering from peripheral vascular surgery or peripheral angioplasty, as well as those who experience pain while walking.

The Healthy Hearts Cardiac Rehabilitation Program provides a comprehensive recovery program for patients who undergo open-heart surgery or who have had a heart attack. The Zipper Club is open to all patients who have had open-heart surgery, whether at Cape Fear Valley or elsewhere. For more information, please call the Heart Center at (910) 609-6230.
