Stanton Hospitality House

We can't bring your loved one closer to home, but we can bring "home" a little closer to you. At the Stanton Hospitality House, we understand that when you're far from home, having a loved one in the hospital can be a difficult situation.

Our goal at the Stanton Hospitality House is to reduce the financial and emotional burden that illness and hospitalization can bring to a family. Caring volunteers provide a warm, supportive atmosphere to family members who need to stay near their loved one during an illness, trauma or specialized treatment at any of our area hospitals.

Established in 1990, our facility has provided more than 5,900 nights of accommodations to families from 52 North Carolina counties, 39 states and 10 foreign countries. We are proud to be one of 18 such facilities in North Carolina and one of 150 in the United States.

The Stanton Hospitality House was acquired by Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in 1996 but continues to serve all area hospitals. Stanton Hospitality House now falls under the umbrella of the Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation, a charitable not-for-profit organization. Two houses are conveniently located within walking distance of Cape Fear Valley, Southeastern Regional Rehabilitation Center, and Behavioral Health Care – Melrose Center. They are also within driving distance of Highsmith-Rainey Memorial Hospital, the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Womack Army Medical Center.

Physicians, chaplains, hospital administration and members of the nursing staff refer prospective guests. Guests may register through Patient Relations at any of our area hospitals from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., seven days a week. After hours, they may call the Hospitality House directly at (910) 323-1771.

Guests are asked to make a room donation of $8 per person or $15 per family per night.

Regretfully, we are unable to provide medical or nursing care at the Stanton Hospitality House. We must request that guests be self-sufficient or that their special-care needs can be met by an accompanying friend or relative.
