If you’ve been a Passport To Health member for many years, you may not realize that your paper Passport To Health card expired on Feb. 28. Passport To Health membership is available for a nominal annual fee of $10 per member, $15 for married couples.

Click here to download the Passport to Health membership application form. Please fill out the form and mail it back with your annual membership fee. It will take approximately 4-6 weeks to process for enrollment.

Monthly Luncheon and Dinner Programs

All luncheon and dinner programs are held in the Cape Fear Valley Rehabilitation Center Auditorium, located behind Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Free parking is available in the Employee Parking Lot, located at the corner of Melrose and Walter Reed roads, with shuttle service provided to the door.

Doors open at 11:15 a.m. for the luncheons and 4:45 p.m. for the dinners.

Passport to Health Workshops

Tai Chi For Arthritis and Falls Prevention

This series of classes meets every Tuesday and Thursday for 10 weeks from May 23 to July 27. The classes are based on the Sun style of Tai Chi, a low-impact physical activity program that includes gentle movements suitable for people of all ages, mobility, ability and fitness levels with any form of arthritis.Tai Chi for arthritis has also been proven to help reduce the prevalence of falls among older adults. Once you finish the 10-week class, you’ll have the knowledge to continue Tai Chi on your own at home.

This will be a basic hearing screening performed by an audiologist.

Healthy Fats vs. Unhealthy Fats
