FAYETTEVILLE – The Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation will unveil a new charitable endowment program to help sustain patient programs through Friends of the Cancer Center.
The Irene Thompson Byrd Cancer Care Endowment Wall will be unveiled during an invitation-only event on Monday, Feb. 18 at 5:30 p.m. at Cape Fear Valley Cancer Treatment and CyberKnife Center.
Byrd is the late wife of Jesse Byrd who was the founder and chairperson of Friends of the Cancer Center Advisory Council. To date, the Health Foundation Friends of the Cancer Center has raised nearly $600,000 through private donations to create the endowment.
Invited guests include the Byrd family, endowment donors, foundation board members, advisory council members and administration from the Cancer Center and Cape Fear Valley Health.
