Cape Fear Valley Health Begins COVID-19 Vaccines for 75+ Group

1/5/2021

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – January 5, 2021: Cape Fear Valley Health began a “soft launch” of the COVID-19 vaccine today for state’s Phase 1b, group 1 category, which includes individuals ages 75+. The vaccine clinic began at 7am until the vaccine supply ran out at 2pm.

The pilot was conducted to operationally plan for needs in an effort to conduct a larger scale clinic safely and efficiently in the coming days and weeks.

On Wednesday, January 6, a limited supply of the vaccine will be offered on a “first come, first serve” basis for those fitting the state’s criteria of “Phase 1b, group 1”, ages 75+, at the Cape Fear Valley Rehabilitation Center Auditorium from 9am – 11am.

The clinic will begin at 9am, and we ask that no one arrives before 8:30am (30 mins before), as we will not be able to accommodate lining up prior to that. Individuals should arrive to the building from the corner of Melrose and John Carlisle Lane and look for the “Event Parking” sign for the designated parking lot. Additionally, we have set up an automated message line, 910-615-9000, which will be updated throughout the vaccine process with the phase we are currently vaccinating, as well as our website, www.capefearvalley.com/covid19.

Healthcare workers will also be receiving their second doses throughout this week as well.
