Cape Fear Valley Daycare Child Tests Positive For COVID-19 Child Not In Attendance At The Time

8/12/2020

FAYETTEVILLE – August 12, 2020 - Cape Fear Valley Health received confirmation Tuesday that a child enrolled at its First Adventures Child Development Center has tested positive for COVID-19. However, the child has not been in attendance at the center for more than two weeks and will not return until medically cleared by the family physician.

Cape Fear Valley’s Infection Prevention & Control Team and Employee Health Director has consulted with state and local regulatory health experts to ensure all necessary protocols and precautions are being taken to keep the health system’s daycare children and staff safe.

It was determined that no further measures were necessary.

Safety always is the health system’s primary concern. The health system diligently follows and enforces strict safety protocols to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 at First Adventures and will continue to do so.

As always, Cape Fear Valley Health is especially grateful during this time for its providers and staff who remain committed to providing exceptional care while on the front lines of this pandemic.
