Bladen County Hospital Holds Anniversary Picnic
6/2/2009
Bladen County Hospital and Cape Fear Valley Health System celebrated their first anniversary together with several hundred of their closest friends.
A year ago this week, Bladen County Hospital became an affiliate of Cape Fear Valley Health System – the first hospital outside of Cumberland County to do so. More than 300 county residents attended a free picnic on Friday, June 5, at the Elizabethtown facility to help mark the occasion.
Festivities included catering by The Front Porch Restaurant and live bluegrass music by the Randy Hawse Bluegrass Band. Speakers includednew Bladen County Hospital CEO Cameron Highsmith and Cape Fear Valley CEO Michael Nagowski.
Cape Fear Valley affiliated with Bladen County Hospital to help keep a valuable community resource open. Bladen County Hospital is one of just two Critical Access Hospitals in Southeastern North Carolina that serves primarily rural areas.
