Breath of Life Pulmonary Rehab

Breath of Life Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Breath of Life is a comprehensive program for people with chronic lung disease. Nurses, respiratory therapists and exercise specialists supervise our classes. Dietary consults and psychological counseling are also available if needed.  A physician’s referral is required to attend. This program operates under the direction of a Medical Director, who is a licensed physician.
Patients begin in Phase II, which is held in the Heart Center at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. It includes exercise, education, stress management and dietary consults to meet each patient’s needs. Classes are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

After completing Phase II, the patient may choose to continue in the maintenance phase of the program, which is held at the HealthPlex, the health system’s wellness center, located at 1930 Skibo Road. Patients continue to be monitored by medical personnel during exercise, and can continue to participate as long as they wish. Maintenance classes are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
