To All Clinical Instructors:
As in the past, all students and instructors who participate in clinicals at Cape Fear Valley must complete an orientation to the facility. In an effort to make that process consistent between schools we have developed a web-based student orientation.
The orientation consists of 3 modules. After viewing each individual module and successfully completing a posttest, a certificate can be printed. The three certificates will be submitted to the clinical instructor. The school is responsible for maintaining the hard copy certificates.
Within the website, there is a document that can be downloaded for the instructor to list the names of the individuals that have successfully completed the orientation. The instructor’s signature at the bottom will validate that each student, and the instructor, has completed the orientation requirements. The instructor will bring this document to Human Resources at 1320 Medical Drive wherein the student badges will be given for clinicals. The student handbook is no longer necessary. If you have nursing students that will be using the computer system for charting or giving medication, please contact Debbie Abbott at dabbott@capefearvalley.com to schedule the necessary training.
We appreciate the opportunity to provide a clinical experience for healthcare students. We hope that this web-based orientation will make the process simpler for students and instructors. If you have any questions or problems with the site or its functions, please notify Beverly Grayman-Rich at 609-6409 or email her at
