We Are Growing!
After years of planning, the largest expansion plan in Cape Fear Valley’s history is now underway.
On Dec. 7, 2005, the health system’s Board of Trustees joined administrators in breaking ground for Valley Pavilion, a six-story tower to be erected on the south side of the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center campus.
Valley Pavilion will include 130 patient beds and a centralized Heart & Vascular Center. But perhaps the most highly anticipated feature will be the new Emergency Department. Located on the tower’s ground floor, it will be easily accessible from Village and Owen drives. It will also be more than twice the size of the current Emergency Department, which the area has outgrown since its opening in 1988.
A five-story parking deck is
now open to patients and visitors. The parking deck is open
seven days a week with daily shuttle service from 7 a.m. to 11
p.m. and 24-hour security.
Initially, the
505-space, five-story parking deck will be accessible from Owen
Drive (at the medical center's main entrance) and on Melrose
Road.
Traffic traveling
towards Fort Bragg/All-American Expressway (northbound) on
Owen Drive should turn left onto Melrose Road, make a left onto
the medical campus at the Emergency Department entrance and
follow signs to the parking deck. Traffic traveling from Fort
Bragg/All-American Expressway (southbound) on Owen Drive
should turn right into the medical center's main entrance, then
make a left to enter the deck.
Patients and
visitors are encouraged to enter the parking deck from the north
and depart southbound on Owen Drive. So drive on in, take the
keys out and experience a whole new level of parking.
