Cash Gifts
You may make a gift by check, by money order, and of currency. Please make checks and money orders payable to Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation and mail your gift to the address below. We suggest you do not mail gifts of currency, per U.S. Postal Service advice. If you wish your gift to be designated for a special fund, event, or Friends group, please make the notation on the memo line of your check.
Gifts of Stock
You may be able to give more than you thought due to tax advantages of stock gifts. Simply let your broker know which stocks and how many shares you would like to give and your broker can transfer the stock to Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation.
Tribute Gifts, in memory or honor of a loved one or special occasion
Do you know someone who has touched your life in a special way? Consider a tribute gift in honor or in memory of a family member, friend, neighbor, personal hero or business associate. You may also commemorate a special occasion, such as a birthday, birth, baptism, marriage, engagement, anniversary, graduation, accomplishment, or holiday.
For all gifts of $10 or more, we will send a beautiful card to the person you wish to honor or to family members of those you wish to remember. When you mail your tribute gift, please be sure to include the name and address of the person who should receive the tribute acknowledgement. (Please note that the acknowledgement of your thoughtfulness sent in honor or in memory does not reflect the dollar amount of the tribute gift.)
Planned Gifts
Planned gifts are a way to support Cape Fear Valley Health System and receive possible financial and other benefits for you or your family. Planned Gifts include Wills and Bequests, Charitable Trusts that return income, and Gifts of Life Insurance, among others. Please contact the Foundation office for more information.
Significant and Campaign Gifts
Larger gifts are a meaningful way to make a significant difference in your community. Major gifts receive special recognition and can be pledged over several years.
Corporate Giving
Many local businesses invest in their community or support their employees’ interests by giving to Cape Fear Valley Health System. Corporate gifts include cash, stocks or gifts-in-kind. Some corporate gifts are matching gifts. For each dollar given by an employee, the business gives a dollar or a percentage of a dollar.
Contact your employer to find out more about matching-gift programs offered. If you are a business, consider supporting CFVHS by matching employee gifts. Matching-gift programs offer wonderful opportunities to support employees and boost giving power.
Giving Recognition Societies
Annual donors and loyal long-term donors may receive special recognition and other benefits. They also know they have made a significant difference in helping others in their community.
Gifts-in-Kind
In-kind gifts are gifts of items or a service you provide, including furniture, office supplies, equipment or works of art, or professional services, among others. We can help you choose an appropriate gift or help you decide where your services are most needed.
Gifts to a Specific Program or the Greatest Need
If you would like your gift to be used for a specific existing area of Cape Fear Valley Health System, or an approved new program, just let us know when you make your gift. If you do not specify an area, your gift is used to support the area of greatest need.
When you give to Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation, you join others in making an investment in your future and in the health of your community.
