5th Annual Ribbon Walk & Ride
In the fall, the Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation’s Friends of the Cancer Center join forces to host the RibbonWalk For Cancer. In 2009, the walk hosted more than 600 walkers and raised more than $65,000 to benefit cancer patients in our area.
This year we've added a motorcycle ride to the event. The ride will travel more than 40 miles, beginning in Festival Park and traveling Hwy. 87 to the town of Tarheel and back.
This year's walk and ride will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13, at Festival Park in downtown Fayetteville. Registration begins at 9 a.m. The ride begins at 9:45 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m.

27th Annual Light of Life
On Sunday, Nov. 28, Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation will present the 27th annual Light of Life Tree Lighting Ceremony at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
You can honor or memorialize a friend or family member by sponsoring a light on the tree. Their name, as well as the donor’s, will appear in the Light of Life Program. Persons honored, family members of those memorialized, as well as contributors, will receive an invitation to the tree lighting ceremony and reception.
Your contributions to the Light of Life program help make it possible to provide additional services and comforts to patients within the health system.
Donations can be given at any time to the tree lighting program, but to be acknowledged in the program, contributions must be received in the Foundation office no later than Friday, Nov. 5. A copy of the program is available on the day of the tree lighting ceremony and thereafter in the Foundation office on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
You can honor or memorialize a friend or family member for one season for a donation of $10. A Lifetime light can be sponsored for $100.

5th Annual Circle of Friends Gala
On Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation will present the 5th annual Circle of Friends Gala at Highland Country Club.
Since 2007, the Circle of Friends Gala has raised more than $400,000 to support the six Friends Groups of Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation and the Diabetes and Endocrine Center. The Friends groups and the volunteers that direct them help develop programs to assist patients with needs that contribute to the healing process, but that go beyond the scope of Cape Fear Valley’s mission to provide medical care and treatment.
