Cancer Center Services Offered

Emotional Support
Friends of the Cancer Center volunteers provide a friendly ear and support, easing the burden that patients and family members can sometimes feel when coping with cancer.
When patients don't want to burden their families, it's nice to know they can talk with a friendly volunteer who knows firsthand the pain, suffering and heartbreak cancer can bring. They are available to talk to patients in the lounge or the restful courtyard.

Special Needs Assistance
Medical insurance may cover most of the cost of cancer treatment, but there are often many necessities that the patient must pay for out of pocket, such as some medications and nutritional supplements prescribed to help cancer patients maintain their strength during treatment. In addition, some patients need assistance with transportation, wigs, prostheses and other needs.

The Friends of the Cancer Center does provide generous assistance with these additional needs to eligible patients.
